### Works and Buildings
(1.) Read: A letter from the Surveyor General applying for a supplementary vote of $200 to meet the cost of watering the public thoroughfares.

C.S.O. 2295 of 1883.
The Committee recommend that the vote be approved, as, owing to the unprecedentedly long drought of last winter, a balance of $50 only is now available.
### Miscellaneous Services
(2.) Read: A letter from Mr. COLQUHOUN applying for a Government Grant towards the cost of the proposed Exploration from British Burmah to the North of Siam down to the Menam Valley.
Grant to Mr. COLQUHOUN towards the cost of the Exploration from British Burmah, China, and ... £300.
The Committee recommend that, as this Colony is interested in the proposed Exploration, and that as other Colonies have contributed towards it, the sum of £300 should be voted.
0.5.0, 2265 of 1883. Government Furniture, $1,338.40.
(3.) Read: A letter from the Surveyor General applying for a special vote for $1,335.46 to meet the expenses incurred in necessary Furniture and fittings for Government House and Mountain Lodge.
The Committee recommend that the expenditure be approved as it is necessary and reasonable.
